澳大利亚 AIMS（Australian Institute of Medical Scientists，澳大利亚医学科学家研究所）是澳洲移民和公民部（Minister for Immigration and Citizenship）指定的实验室医学相关职业的移民职业评估机构，负责对医学科学家（Medical Scientist ASCO 2115-11）和医学实验室技术人员（Medical Laboratory Technical Officer ASCO 3111-11）进行评估。
AIMS 对 2115-11 及 3111-11 职业评估的基本要求：雅思考试总分7.0或以上（成绩有效期两年），过去 5 年内有 2 年以上相关的工作经验，医学科学家需要学士以上学位，医学实验室技术人员需要专科以上学历。
澳大利亚对 医学科学家 及 医学实验室技术人员 职业的教育及就业基本要求
在澳洲 医学科学家（医学实验室科学家）（2115-11 Medical Scientists (Medical Laboratory Scientists)） 和 医学实验室技术人员（3111-11 Medical Laboratory Technical Officers） 的工作职责是不一样的，医学科学家（Medical Scientists）主要从事临床研究，协助医生进行人类疾病的诊断，治疗及预防；医学实验室技术人员（Medical Laboratory Technical Officers）主要是医学科学家的助理，在医学科学家指导下进行血液，体液和组织的化验。因此 AIMS 对
医学科学家 及
医学实验室技术人员 的评估要求也是不一样的。
澳大利亚医学实验室科学（Medical Laboratory Science）包括的学科：
组织病理学；免疫学；病毒学；输血科学；血液学；细胞学；临床生物化学和医学；生物。
澳洲对医学科学家（medical scientists）教育要求
主修 AIM 认可的三年或四年的医学实验室科学/实验室医学学位。
以下大学的 医学实验室科学/实验室医学学位 被 AIMS 认可，AIMS 将具有以下大学学位的毕业生定为医学科学家且具备AIMS会员资格（Graduate membership of AIMS）：

澳洲对医学实验室技术人员（medical laboratory technical officers）的教育要求
最低须有技术与继续教育学院（Technical and Further Education College）的两年全日制医学实验室科学专业文凭或同等的业余文凭再加上两年工作经验或在新西兰医学实验室科学局（New Zealand Medical Laboratory Science Board）进行了注册。
澳大利亚没有官方的医学家注册机构，AIMS 对 2115-11 及 3111-11 职业的评估结果（the letter of assessment）除了可以用于移民也可以用于在澳洲就业。
澳洲海外医学科学家和医学实验室技术人员评估
AIMS 对海外医学科学家和医学实验室技术人员评估的雅思要求都是 7.0 以上，但评估的学历及工作内容要求不太一样。
海外医学科学家（2115-11 Medical Scientists）职业评估
AIMS 对海外医学科学家的移民职业评估分2个阶段（资格预评和考试AIMS Professional Examination）：
Stage 1. 资格评估
该阶段是一个初级的以文件为基础的评估（initial, document-based assessment），评估周期为6周：
持有AIMS认可学位的申请人会由AIMS分类为医学科学家无需参加笔试；而其他申请人则须由AIMS评估是否具备考试资格：申请人持有相当于澳洲本科学位的科学学士学位，认可学位即- 所学课程要与病理学相关；申请人在申请前的5年中需有2年以上相关工作经验，学习过以下学科：
- 人体生理学（human physiology）
- 化学chemistry
- 生物化学biochemistry
- 免疫学(Immunology)
- 普通微生物学(General Microbiology)
- 普通病理学（general pathology）
- 人类分子生物学（human molecular biology）
及至少以下两门学科：
- 临床化学（clinical chemistry）
- 血液病学（haematology）
- 医学微生物学（medical microbiology）
- 输血学（transfusion science） -免疫血液学（immunohaematology）
- 组织病理学说（histopathology）/细胞学诊断（diagnostic cytology）
Stage 2. AIMS 考试
通过Stage 1评估的人可以申请参加考试：考试为3个小时的简答题，1年2次分别于每年的3月份和9月份举行，澳洲和海外均设有考点；该考试的申请截止日期分别为：12月20日（如申请3月份考试）和6月20日（如申请9月份考试）。
考试主要内容及分值如下：
临床化学（Clinical Chemistry） 22 marks
血液病学（Haematology） 22 marks
医学微生物学（Medical Microbiology）22 marks
血学（Transfusion Science） 22 marks
组织病理学说（Histopathology）/细胞学（Cytology）12 marks
总分: 100 marks（50分通过）
海外医学实验室技术人员（3111-11 Medical Laboratory Technical Officer）职业评估
有相当于澳洲技术与继续教育学院TAFE（Technical and Further Education College）颁发的医疗实验科学（medical laboratory science）专业文凭，申请前的5年中有至少2年的相关工作经验或已在新西兰医学实验室科学委员会（New Zealand Medical Laboratory Science Board）注册。
未满足职业考试资格或未通过考试的申请人也会被归类为医学实验室技术人员。
Applicants who do not qualify to sit the Professional Examination or who fail to pass the Examination will also be classified as medical laboratory technical officers.
AIMS 评估材料清单：
1. 学历，学位证明 A certified copy of your qualification papers (such as degrees, diplomas, certificates etc)
2. 课程描述：包括科目，学时，成绩，实践及临床教育描述（where applicable）
An official certified record of educational courses completed, showing: subjects, hours, examination results, and where applicable, details of practical and clinical education；
3. 雅思成绩报告 Certified copy of IELTS test result showing an overall band score of 7.0 or better；
4. 工作经历证明，雇主推荐信 Certified evidence of your professional work experience and references from employers or,if you are self-employed, two professionalcolleagues；
5.如果有的话请提供：
* 原来及目前的注册或许可证明 Original and current registration or licensure；
* 实习证明 Internship；
* 曾用名证明 Change of name；
6. 身份证明（护照或身份证）Certified copy of photographic identification (passport or identification card)；
7. 3张护照尺寸的照片，背面注上姓名和签名 Three (3) Passport size photographs endorsed on the reverse side with your name and signature.
